Almost all major Service Sector and Manufacturing companies have already implemented SAP creating a plethora of jobs for SAP trained professionals.  These companies require SAP support consultant for supporting SAP. A lot of small and medium scale companies / industrial houses plan to implement SAP soon. These organizations require Technical SAP Consultants and Functional SAP consultants.

A large number of end user jobs are also available in the market. SAP Professionals are highly rewarded and career growth path is comparatively better than rest of the IT professionals.

    1. Thanks dear..as you wrote that you are working as procurement and stores manager...so I think you should go for either SAP MM (Material Management) or SAP WM (Warehouse Management) Module...but I would prefer SAP MM Module because you are planning to pursue MBA in SCM..so it will be better to get sound knowledge of SAP MM...because after SAP MM Module you could go for SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management) Module that is advance version of SAP MM Module....So try to get sound knowledge of SAP M M Module...I have written something about SAP Modules and Importance of SAP Certification ..please click the link given below...you will find the complete information...

    1. Thanks Neha…..I don’t know about your profile but as you have learnt SAP ABAP…it seems that you are from development background…..All SAP Modules are in demand so it’s very hard to say which one you choose…basically choosing a module depends on your background and experience…SAP ABAP is a very good module and has a lots of opportunities… Do work hard to get sound knowledge of SAP ABAP…definitely you will get a good job…but if you want to learn more SAP Module then based on your technical skills I would suggest you to learn SAP Netweaver (SAP BASIS Module) Module or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) Module…SAP BASIS Module is huge demanding and this module has a very bright future…if you have any other doubt please let me know...best of luck…

MYSELF ANVESH , DID GRADUATION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING & 2011 PASSED OUT. I CHOSEN SAP AS MY CAREER OPTION, I TRAINED ON SAP ABAP RECENTLY, I HEARD THAT COMPANIES DON'T RECRUIT FRESHERS HOW FAR IS IT TRUE? GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS ON MY CAREER PATH.. I HAVE GOOD KNOWLEDGE ON SAP ABAP. TELL ME WHAT ARE THE STEPS THAT I HAVE TO FOLLOW AT THIS MOMENT,HOW CAN I PROCEED FURTHER TO ACHIEVE THE CAREER PATH IN SAP..I AM GREATFUL TO YOU SIR,YOUR SUGGESTIONS & GUIDELINES ARE VERY VALUABLE TO ME. SUGGESTIONS & COMMENTS ON MY POST ARE WELCOME TO EVERYONE..I AM HAPPY TO KNOW THE PROS & CONS.

    1. Thanks Anvesh,
This is true to some extent that SAP companies don't recruit freshers but not fully...if anyone have very good knowledge of SAP (any module) & SAP Certification as well then anyone has a better chance to get a chance in SAP...you are passed out in 2011 so you have a chance to show one year of experience...Just work very hard and get full knowledge of SAP ABAP so that you could be able to justify one year of experience ...Surely you will get success very soon..Wishing you all the best..

you have chose right module as having accounting background...The scope of SAP FICO Module is very good having lots of opportunities in India and Internationally as well...If we talk about skills it depneds upon us....nothing special skills required for being a succesful FICO consultant...just be honest and work hard as much as you can..then nothing can stop you being a good SAP FICO consulatant...if you have good knowledge about SAP FICO module then surely you'll be a good consultant...SIEMENS Training books are very very good for every module having every topics in details but these books are not available in market because these books are only for the guys who get training from SIEMENS...just now I don't know about books for FICO module available in market but I'll discuus with my friends and if I find any name I'll let you know soon..Wishing you all the best...Have a great time ahead...

  26. hi,yogesh sir,
Thanks for your sharing sap with all

I did MBA (Finance) in 2006. I want to learn SAP moudle. Due to lack of communication skills I turned to learning SAP ABAP instead of SAP (FI/CO), even though it is new for me. But I am instersing technical.
Q)Is it correct deceission or not?
Q)shall companies consider MBA (FINANCE)people for recurting SAP (ABAP) jobs?

    pls guide me.

    1. Hello Friend,
Functional experiences with technical skills always help. I wouldn't say ABAP is a bad decision but not a good as well. Reason: in long run, FICO and ABAP is not a desirable match. You should continue as FICO as primary and ABAP as secondary.
Salary prospective also, functional get better salary then of technical resources.
For hiring ABAP, MBA is not considered.
For FICO, MBA is considered and ABAP would be as an added advantage.
      Wishing you all the best....

Thanks for the list of companies.
I have completed SAP ABAP certification recently (2 months back) and also working in abap from last 3 months. i have work exp of 1.6 yrs in asp.net c#.
so will my experience of 1.6yrs be counted as domain exp?

    1. Hello Friend,
It's good that you are a SAP ABAP certified...but when we talk about Technical domain experience as far as I think ASP.NET will be considered as non-SAP experience.Actually Technical resources (Techincal Domains) don't have any domain experience in general but this experience will help a lot...

    1. Hello Siddharth,
Sorry for replying so late. Infact, still I am not so confident in answering this as it depends on so many factors to change your line and get into new things. All is required constant search for opportunity.

Also, it depends on the company you are working, prospects within the company (internal switch is always easy), sometimes you need to learn how to justify your employer on your worthiness and knowledge. But in most case, internal switch is always good (even it is for short duration) and then look for opportunity outside.

If you have decided to come in SAP then I would suggest you first take SAP training from some local institute and then go for attending a training through SAP Authorized Institutes which charges heavily but provides you a chance to get certified ...For being a SAP certified candidate you need to do a lot of practices and study as well ...

You have completed SAP SD Module training..Have to try to get a job in SAP SD Module …. If you go to SAP field without prior SAP experience you’ll taken as a fresher and Job for fresher is really tough. Companies generally don't hire fresher because Escalation from business for not getting quick response and Justification given by fresher are not business oriented….You have to some kind of experience … If you think that you are very good in Programming then you can go for SAP ABAP Technical Module …… but I would suggest you to first find a job in SAP SD module with showing some kind of SAP experience…… If don’t get success then go for SAP ABAP….

    1. Hello Anand,
If you feel comfortable in Technical field then you can opt for SAP ABAP Module that is related with coding.... SAP ABAP is good technical module having a bright future .... once you get a chance to work on SAP......

If you are not interested in ABAP Module then you can go for SAP Basis Module (In Huge Demand), SAP Netweaver Module or SAP BI Module. If you interested in functional Module then you can go for SAP MM or SAP SD Module. It depends on you to choose between SAP Technical or Functional Modules. But According to your qualification I think SAP Technical Modules will suit with your profile.

If you have decided to come in SAP then I would suggest you first take SAP training from some local institute and then go for attending a training through SAP Authorized Institutes which charges heavily but provides you a chance to get certified ...For being a SAP certified candidate you need to do a lot of practices and study as well ...

When implementing BI, is it implemented on all three servers separately (development, quality and production) or only on development server?

One more question is, can we implement BI for clients who do not have prior R3 implementation and are entering data only in flat files?
